Assistive Technology
The Assistive Technology Office provides evaluations, trainings, materials, resources and professional development for Assistive Technology devices and related methods of integration of these devices. The Technology Solutions Evaluation Team assesses students (in collaboration with school staff and families) for appropriate and effective use with Communication Devices, Access Tools, and other technology to facilitate access to curriculum, information and instruction that will become IEP mandated for the student. The Assistive Technology Team procures the recommended equipment, re-evaluates for new equipment as needed, facilitates repairs and supports schools in the use of programmatic Assistive Technology Devices.

STOPP
The STOPP (Strategies, Techniques and Options Prior to Placement) initiative has been designed by District 75 to provide hands-on assistance to community schools requesting behavior support to help identify and resolve situations occurring due to challenging behaviors by at risk and high need students and classrooms. The District 75 STOPP initiative started in the 2007-08 school year in an effort to expand external partnerships and outreach to community schools and assist schools participating in Phase 1 of the Special Education Reform. The District 75 STOPP initiative continues to support community schools with the Special Education Reform.
