NYC DOE hosted a reception at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to announce the winners of the energy efficiency art contest and awarded iPads, laptop and Nooks to 15 talented students for creating art work which demonstrates how schools save energy. 

Students from all 5 boroughs and all grade levels participated and the 15 entries were chosen from over 200 art submissions.  The art work is being used to create the 2012-2013 calendar and an original copy will be distributed to all schools in the fall! The calendar can be downloaded here.

Claire Shin, a 3rd grader from PS 191 in Queens was the grand prize winner and her artwork is on the calendar cover! We congratulate all participants and winners!
