Schools are now at the center of the Department of Education structure.
For the first time, in the 2007-08 school year, all schools selected School Support Organizations, which provide them with customized support. Schools also receive support from the Integrated Service Center located in their borough.
Community District Superintendents, High School Superintendents, and the Chancellor ensure that schools are meeting the high standards that are set for them.
The following chart is a simple look at the organization of the City's public schools.
