Contracts for Excellence

2009-10 Public Comment (completed)

Thank you to all parents, students, school employees and community members who participated in the 2009-10 Contracts for Excellence public engagement process.

The deadline for public comment on the Department's proposed 2009-10 plan was October 8, 2009 (30 days from September 8, 2009, the date that the comprehensive plan was posted to the Department's website). The public was invited to comment on any aspect of the plan, including:

  1. How schools are planning to spend their discretionary funds within the six allowable program areas
  2. How the DOE is allocating targeted Contracts funds to schools
  3. How the DOE is allocating funds for district-wide Initiatives
  4. The Class Size Reduction plan
  5. The public comment process itself

Hearing Schedule


2009-10 hearings are now concluded. A calendar of public hearings that took place can be found here.

Please note that Community Education Councils (CECs) are responsible for scheduling their own meetings and may opt to change the date, time or location of a meeting in response to local needs. This calendar will be updated promptly as we receive word of changes. As such, we strongly urge members of the public to recheck this site to confirm meeting details prior to attendance.
