Lori Podvesker is a New York City public school parent and former teacher who has been a vocal advocate for students with special needs and their families. She currently works as a systemic advocacy and policy analyst for Resources for Children with Special Needs, a non-profit that works on behalf of families and children with disabilities across the City, assisting in accessing services and raising awareness of their needs. Podvesker holds an M.S. Ed. in special education from Brooklyn College, and is currently a member of the Manhattan Development Disabilities Council and Coalition of Action to Reform and Improve Special Education. She has an 11-year-old son at a City school and resides in Brooklyn.
