D. Miguelina Zorrilla-Aristy is a grassroots advocate and has shown immense dedication to members of her community. Her career in government began when she joined the office of the local New York City Council member; where she assisted in setting legislative priorities and advocated for constituents throughout the district. After serving alongside the councilmember for 4 years Mrs. Zorrilla-Aristy, joined the office of her local New York State Assembly member; where she also assisted in community advocacy and constituent services. In 2007, she joined the Children's Aid Society where she successfully recruited and trained foster parents. In 2011, she joined the office of the New York City Public Advocate as a community affairs and constituent associate-in that position she served as the liaison to the NYC Department of Buildings, and managed the Public Advocate's NYC's Worst Landlords Watchlist.
Currently Mrs. Zorrilla-Aristy, is a member of the New York City Government Relations team at Time Warner Cable, where she fosters relationships with New York City elected officials, as well as maintain third party relationships and sponsorships. Mrs. Zorrilla-Aristy is the chair of her local Neighborhood Advisory Board (NAB), serving Washington Heights and Inwood, she and the other members assist DYCD identify funding priorities in low-income communities. She is currently pursuing a Master of Art in Social Policy from SUNY Empire State College. She received her Bachelor of Art from Long Island University C.W. Post Campus in International Studies-Political Science.
