NYC Approach to Leadership

To increase the number of high-quality candidates who are well-prepared to become principals in New York City's public schools, we have continued to strengthen and expand our principal preparation programs while simultaneously shifting our focus toward identifying talented educators earlier in their careers and nurturing their leadership skills while they remain in teacher leadership roles. Our goal is to develop a strong and sustainable leadership pipeline for our City's schools. 

Our theory of action holds that if future school leaders are strategically identified and rigorously cultivated earlier in their careers, New York City schools will develop a 
                                strong and sustainable leadership pipeline for years to come.
