Teacher Effectiveness is committed to supporting teachers to reflect and grow as professionals so that students can succeed throughout their education and into their careers. We believe that teachers are the key school-based influencers of student achievement, and along with their administrators, have the power to lead the change necessary to improve teacher effectiveness in NYC’s public schools.
Teacher Effectiveness supports teachers and administrators with their understanding and implementation of Advance. We do this through providing resources, online and in-print, along with professional learning on the Observation and Feedback Cycle.
The Observation and Feedback Cycle consists of three steps:
- Observe classroom practice.
- Prepare and share feedback.
- Support and develop teachers.
School leaders and teachers engage in this ongoing cycle within the greater context of their school’s cycles of professional learning. Finally, these cycles of observation, feedback, support, and professional learning are grounded in the Danielson 2013 Framework for Teaching
