Supporting Teacher Development Using Danielson’s Framework for Teaching

Session Description

This session focuses on supporting teacher development through the use of formative observations and feedback. Participants discuss the relevant sections of the 2012-13 instructional expectations and explore case studies focused on ways in which schools in the 2011-12 Talent Management Pilot built a culture around strengthening teacher practice. Participants also discuss how school leaders can use the Danielson Framework to cultivate within their schools a common understanding of what effective instruction looks like, articulate clear expectations for teacher practice, and serve as the focus for teacher development.
