Teachers need to identify gaps between what students actually know and are able to do and what the CCLS articulate they should be able to know and do.
In this 90-minute activity, participants will:
- Analyze student work produced by existing strong instructional tasks/assignments
- Examine the CCLS to identify points of alignment and surface gaps between current knowledge and performance, and what the CCLS expect
- Discuss implications for teacher planning and preparation
Note: Student work in response to strong instructional tasks/assignments is necessary for this activity.
