New York State's transition to the Common Core standards raises the bar for our students and underscores the power of high-quality teaching as a tool for helping students reach these higher standards. In the fall of 2013, to support shifting teacher practice, we will implement a new system of teacher evaluation and development. To help build a common language and understanding of what great teaching looks like, New York City is utilizing Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching. Please visit the Teacher Effectiveness website to learn more about the new system of teacher evaluation and development.
