Fluency in oral language is a precursor to success in reading and writing.

In this three-session institute, participants will:

  • review research on language and literacy development in young children and understand how the New York State Standards were developed from this research
  • learn how to promote the development of oral language skills in Prekindergarten classrooms through an integrated approach to learning
  • be prepared to implement and assess developmentally appropriate interactive literacy experiences for Prekindergarten children.
