Below is a list of the current professional development offerings of the Office of Early Childhood Education. As new courses are developed and scheduled they will be added to this list. So please check back often. Early Childhood Borough Office as soon as possible if you are a UPK Teacher who has not yet been trained on how to administer the ESI-R Developmental Screening. 


Fifteenth Annual NYC Interagency Early Childhood Professional Development Institute

25th January, 2010 

The Office of Early Childhood in collaboration with the Administration for Children Services, the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators and the United Federation of Teachers is hosting the Fifteenth Annual NYC Interagency Early Childhood Professional Development Institute.  The theme of the Institute is “Strengthening Early Childhood Partnerships: Empowering Today’s Children and Families”. 

The Institute provides an outstanding offering of workshop strands, early childhood presenters, and a Plenary Session. Our keynote speakers are the Honorable Dr. Adelaide L. Sanford, Vice Chancellor Emerita, of the New York State Board of Regents and Dr. Maurice R. Sykes, Executive Director of the Early Childhood Leadership Institute at the University of the District of Columbia.  

This free one day Institute will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the New York Marriott at Brooklyn Bridge, 333 Adams Street, Brooklyn New York 11201.  

To attend, please complete a Registration Form.  Please note there is a limit of two participats per program/school.  A seperate registration form MUST be completed for each participant.  Registration deadline is January 20, 2010.
