Pre-K Thrive Fun with Feelings cards offer families a playful way to help children learn about feelings and support social emotional skill-building at home. The Division of Early Childhood Education has partnered with the Center for Early Childhood Health and Development (CEHD) at the NYU School of Medicine to create Pre-K Thrive resources for Pre-K for All children, families, and programs.
All families with a child enrolled in a Pre-K for All program at the time of the tool's release in spring 2017 will receive Fun with Feelings cards. All Pre-K for All programs will receive 1 set of Fun with Feelings cards to keep in each Pre-K for All classroom.
To support your program's use of Fun with Feelings, the following resources are available:
- Rollout Guide: Offers ideas for activities with families and in the classroom, including a sample event invitation.
- Family Letter: Introduces Fun with Feelings to families. When you distribute the cards to families, include this letter.
- Translations for Fun with Feelings
The Fun with Feelings cards are printed in the three most prevalent written home languages for Pre-K for All families: English, Spanish, and Chinese. If families in your program speak Arabic, Bengali, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Russian, or Urdu, please print a translated PDF provided above in their home language.
