This survey on reading and technology was conducted by Yankelovich for Scholastic, and represents data from 1000 children (ages 5-17) and families from 25 U.S. cities. 

Read Together: Parents and Educators Working Together for Literacy
This web page offers support for developing young readers, with support for reading aloud, suggestions for helping your child learn to read, signs of reading development, and recommended texts for readers at different levels.

This excellent web resource features a collection of close to 4000 beautiful, downloadable picture books representing historical and modern books from countries around the world, in many languages. Visitors can search books by country, awards, author, and illustrator. Summaries of the books are provided.
