Adapting HIV/AIDS Curriculum

New York State and City require that all students in grades K-12 receive age- and developmentally-appropriate lessons on HIV/AIDS each year. Vulnerable and Capable: Adapting HIV/AIDS Lessons for Students with Disabilities is an instructional guide on HIV/AIDS education adaptation and best practices for teachers of physically, developmentally, and emotionally challenged students. The DVD features D75 teachers modeling and sharing their own best practices on HIV/AIDS education. It was produced last school year by the Department of Fitness and Health Education in conjunction with District 75.
