Great Expectations: Partnering for Your Child’s Future

Eighth Grade

Our eighth grade students are learning much more than to read, write, do math, and understand key concepts in science and social studies.

By the end of the year, eighth grade students can revise a question to arrive at a topic that can be researched; do advanced searching using a variety of search engines; seek information from different sources for a balanced point of view; draw conclusions supported by evidence; use information to create original works; read a variety of genres independently and share responses; show understanding of intellectual freedom and intellectual property rights; and use the Internet ethically and appropriately.
