With the elimination of the NYSED Regents Comprehensive Exams in Foreign Languages, students will be able to meet the language assessment requirement by passing the NYC Language Other Than English (LOTE) examination aligned to the Checkpoint B Learning Standard for LOTE. These regulations can be found here.
All LOTE exams will be administered at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016.
NYC will offer French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Latin, and Spanish LOTE June 2016 exams at NYC public and charter schools that offer these courses.
STUDENTS WILL BE TESTED AT YOUR SCHOOL: Staff member must be available to administer the exam in that language at your school.

The NYC LOTE is also offered in the following low-incidence languages:
Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), Greek, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Punjabi, Russian, Urdu and Vietnamese.
These comprehensive examinations are offered in 15 languages for school's who plan to offer the Low Incidence LOTE exam or send students in grades 11 and 12 to HUB sites.

- Complete a NYC Roster Form for each language being administered to your students and email to the appropriate Hub Site contact by April xx, 2016.
Please note that in order to administer the LOTE, your school must have a licensed assistant principal of foreign languages or a trained assistant principal and a licensed pedagogue who will administer and rate the exam.
