Find a School Zone
Description Detailed Description
Determine school zone based on student's address. Most public elementary and middle school students attend the "zoned school" that draws children from their immediate geographic region. Information about a student's zoned school will be provided by using the caller's address. (Note: Once on the website, enter caller's address. Beneath the map on the next page, the zoned elementary school is listed on the left and zone middle school is on the right.)

Elementary and Middle School Zone Questions Callers who need more information about their zoned school or who want to discuss having their child attend a school other than their zoned school should be referred to the Region Office. On the school details webpage, locate the region number, then select the Region Office link. The first column displays the region number and the second column displays the corresponding region telephone number. Do not transfer any calls to the Office of Zoning number listed on the website.
High Schools are Not Zoned High schools are not zoned in New York City. All students must complete an application process to apply to high school. See the service "Public School Registration - High School."
