Charter School Enrollment and Admissions
Under the law, charter schools must have a fair and open admissions process, conducting outreach and recruitment to all segments of the community they serve. When more students apply than can be accommodated, many charters use a lottery to randomly determine which students are accepted. Many charter schools also have waiting lists.

Proof of Address
The parent or custodian with whom the student lives must provide verification of address when enrolling a student into school. An address may be verified by any of the following:-utility bill (such as gas, electric, or water)-deed to a house;-document from the Housing Authority;-medical or insurance card;-statement from an employer, social agency, community based organization or a religious institution, verifying the address. A telephone bill or driver's license are not acceptable proofs of address. A lease, without supporting documentation is not acceptable.
