Information about parent associations. Each school is required to maintain a Parent Association (PA), composed of and established by vote of parents. Parents who wish to be involved in their school's PA should contact the principal or PA president.

Difference Between PA and PTA A PA is a Parent Association, with membership drawn solely from parents and those with a parental relationship with one or more children in a school. A PTA is a Parent Teacher Association, whose membership includes both parents and teachers.
Eligibility for Parents and Guardians From Chancellors Regulation A-660: Parent Membership in a parent association is open to parents, legal guardians and persons in a parental relationship with one or more students.

Eligibility for Parents who are School Employees Parents who are school employees are eligible for membership, but cannot serve as a member of the PA or PTA Executive Board in the school in which they are employed.
