8th grade Graduation Requirements Students must pass the four core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies to graduate from 8th grade. Grades in these subjects will be based on student work, attendance and standardized assessments. In the areas of Science and Social Studies, exit projects are used in lieu of standardized assessments.
High School Graduation Requirements High school graduation requirements are established by the New York State Education Department and are based on a number of factors, including completion of a minimum number of 40 credits (for students who entered Grade 9 prior to September 2001) and 44 credits (for students who entered Grade 9 on or after September 1, 2001) and passing the required five Regents examinations.
