Two stories mentioned in the article were written by students in an OACE ESOL Level 4 class - Yasilis Castillo wrote "You Want My Pants?" and Filadelfia Vargas wrote "Invisible in the Bank." Other stories by OACE students include "Essequibo," by Marlyn George, and "A Young Immigrant" by Magnolia Gutierrez. OACE students also contributed to The Literacy Review , an annual journal of writing from students in adult literacy programs throughout New York City. The Literacy Review is part of the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study's Literacy Project .
