A school with a state-approved CTE program of study should continue to review its program delivery and outcomes on an ongoing basis to ensure it stays up to date and rigorous. The school will be required to apply for re-approval of its CTE program's endorsement toward the end of the five-year approval period if it wishes to maintain its CTE endorsement from the State.
Key Documents
1. The Letter of Intent is the primary document to communicate to the New York City Department of Education CTE Team about your CTE Program. Section A is an embedded spreadsheet that will be important before you submit an application for supplemental CTE funding. Section B and C will be important for your application for program approval. The Letter of Intent must be uploaded to www.nyccte.us.com to initatiate the process. Once the LOI is submitted, an automatically generated email with a user password will go directly to the Principal of the requesting school.
2. To apply for program approval, schools must submit via the online Self-Evaluation Tool. Any references to a Self-Evaluation Tool is synonymous with your program approval application. Successful program approval, through this online tool, will have a direct impact on funding and will enable the central NYCDOE CTE team to advocate for sustainable City- and State-approved programs. For screenshots and instructions, click on this Getting Started document. For questions, concerns, or to report problems with the online tool, please email feedback@nyccte.us.com. To begin preparing content for each of the quality indicators with your self-study teams, in advance, of entering information into the mandatory online self-evaluation tool, please use this Self-Evaluation Form as a guide.
3. The CTE Guidance Document is your guide to completing the Self-Evaluation form.
If you have questions about the CTE program approvals process, please email Noel De La Rosa.
