District 7 Kindergarten Admissions
In November 2012, the District 7 Community Education Council approved a plan to make District 7 an elementary choice district. This means that there are no longer any zoned elementary schools in District 7.

Access to Schools in District 7
District 7 is an elementary choice district with two areas: northern and southern. This map shows the line between north and south. Families may apply to all schools in District 7. However, families living north of the line have priority to schools in the northern area, and families living south of the line have priority to the schools in the southern area.
Admissions Priorities
Admissions Priorities are the order in which applicants are considered for placement. Students in District 7 will receive priority to elementary schools in the district in the following order:

1. Students with verified siblings who will be enrolled in grades K-5 in the school as of September 2013.
    a. Within Priority Area first, then
    b. Out of Priority Area, then
    c. Out of District
2. Students who are currently enrolled in pre-kindergarten in the school without siblings enrolled in the school.
    a. Within Priority Area first, then
    b. Out of Priority Area, then
    c. Out of District
3. Other students without siblings enrolled in the school.
    a. Within Priority Area first, then
    b. Out of Priority Area, then
    c. Out of District

If there are more applicants than available seats within a priority group, seats will be assigned by lottery to members of that priority group.
Submitting an Application to Kindergarten in District 7
You will be asked to indicate your preference for specific schools on the District 7 application. You should only rank the schools you are interested in having your child attend.

Starting January 22, 2013, families will be able to submit an application in one of three ways:
  • Online
  • In Person
  • Over the Phone
Deadline: Friday, March 1, 2013
