IN THEIR OWN WORDS
Named after the first black airline pilot in the United States, August Martin High School is designed to help students achieve their personal and professional goals. Our school is divided into five smaller learning academies, which prepare students for a Regents diploma and various industry certifications through challenging academic courses and exciting internship opportunities. We rely on our many strong partnerships to provide students with connections to a wide variety of local and global industries. The supportive culture at August Martin High School ensures that every student learns our school’s core values: respect, a strong work ethic and a dedication to success in the workforce.

  • August Martin High School is the only school in New York City that offers students the opportunity to fly airplanes and obtain hours leading towards a pilot license.
  • Our Communications Academy is in the planning stages of a state-of-the-art TV studio renovation.
  • We are one of the few schools, which allow students the opportunity to take the Driver's Education Test and receive their DMV permit. Our Culinary Academy has completed renovation on a $700,000 cafe, named after a local politician. Our Communication Arts Academy is in the design phase of a $1,000,000 state of the art television studio.
