Crotona Academy High School is a school that promotes higher academic expectations using the Diploma Plus model of education, with intensive math and literacy remediation for every student. Crotona Academy charts a new path to success for young people who have fallen behind in school and are looking for a different kind of high school experience. Students are expected to meet high academic standards and complete New York City high school graduation requirements.

COURSES AND PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Programs: Portfolios (Diploma Plus model of assessment), College Level Courses (PLUS phase of Diploma Plus model), Internships (PLUS phase of Diploma Plus model), each Transitional Classroom Unit (TCU) is completely wireless and outfitted with Dell instructional laptop units

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • Students 15 years of age with 0-6 credits; 16-16 1/2 years of age with 7-12 credits; 17 years of age and older with 15 credits and one Regents exam are eligible to apply.
  • We will consider students who do not meet these criteria on an individual basis through an interview process.
  • Call the school's guidance counselor for an interview.
  • You must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and are requested to bring a transcript and copy of your immunization records.

DID YOU KNOW?
  • This is the only high school in New York City that is entirely made up of Transitional Classroom Units (TCU) in a small outdoor campus. The campus is tree-lined, with a grassy area and park benches.
