IN THEIR OWN WORDSThe Agnes Y. Humphrey School for Leadership is a small, community-serving elementary, middle and high school that emphasizes personal attention and an individualized approach to learning. Our graduation requirements include career internships and proficiency through performance assessment. We are an Expeditionary Learning/Outward Bound school where students are engaged in project-based learning, in-depth investigations and field work as part of the curriculum. Our school is college and career oriented; students define their life goals and participate in individualized school-to-work experiences. All students are part of a small crew (Advisory) where they collaborate to become leaders, engage in community service, develop peaceful relationships and plan for positive futures. Our students' school year includes many life-changing experiences: an Outward Bound excursion, presentation of their school work to a committee and big buddies/little buddies. There are many opportunities for students to distinguish themselves as learners and leaders.
