This year, the NYC Department of Education has created stand-alone Pre-K Centers – and seats are still available! Pre-K Centers are NYCDOE-operated programs, taught and led by certified NYCDOE early childhood teachers and specialists solely serving pre-k students. Each Pre-K Center has a dedicated, qualified team; students participate in reading, healthy play, group meals, class meetings, activity centers, and small group time for six hours and twenty minutes a day, Monday to Friday.
You can pre-register your child for a Pre-K Center during open registration hours.
When you do pre-register, bring your child as well as the following items:
- Your child’s birth certificate or passport
- Your child’s immunization records
- Two documents verifying your address
You can also call 212-637-8000 today to speak with an enrollment specialist who can help you find a Pre-K Center for your child.
