Note: Please include all of your planning team's resumes with your New School Proposals.

Note: The error in Attachment 6D: Staffing Plan Guide in the High School Application has been corrected.  The total in the section now correctly reads $719,376, rather than $619,376.  Please use the $719,376 amount when completing the proposal.

Please title the document or file with the name of the proposed school leader (last name then first name), example: Klein, Joel.doc

New Schools Development

Each year, community leaders, educators, and educational organizations collaborate and form new school planning teams that submit new public school ideas to the New York City Department of Education. Since 2002 when Mayor Bloomberg and Chancellor Klein initiated the Children First reforms,  the DOE has opened hundreds of new schools through this new school proposal process. In addition, dozens of charter schools have opened through the charter school proposal process.
