What’s New - December 7, 2009

NYS Computer Hardware Loan Program

The FY’10 NYS CH (New York State Computer Hardware) loan program will open on or about Wednesday, December 9th for the submission of all Computer Hardware orders via the FAMIS Portal for this school year. The NYS CH allocation is $12.37 per eligible child. Please refer to the NYS Computer Hardware and Equipment Guidelines for further details.

Please check your school’s spending plan under quick code: 004129 to determine when funding is available, then you may commence ordering. Only schools that have properly submitted their required enrollment and Principal Statement of Assurances as instructed will have an allocation available. These forms are available under NPS Memoranda and are still being accepted.

NYSLIB Update

Please note that the
NYSSL/NYSLIB Guidelines and Ordering Information has
been revised to reflect the following information:

Trade books can no longer be ordered for NYSLIB utilizing object code 338. Only object code 337 can be used to order trade books under the NYSTL Program. Instead please order your NYSLIB book needs by referring to one of our contracted library vendors as listed either in the Library and Reference Materials Directory on the DCP website or from the Contract Data Sheet for FLM Library Vendors via Listing Applications available under the NPS Memoranda.

In the near future there will be other changes made to the manner in which you will be able to order your NYSLIB books in the FAMIS Portal. The new ordering tool for school libraries referred to as FAMIS Library Module (FLM) will provide school libraries the ability to create their library lists in FAMIS, compare the best pricing available, confirm the availability of the books, select the vendor of choice and create a purchase order.

Additional detail information regarding the new FLM including dates for live web cast training sessions will be available on this site at a later date in January.

The NYSTL & NYSSL/NYSLIB Loan Programs

The FY’10 NYSTL Loan Program remains open for the submission of textbook ordering for school year 2009-2010. The NYSTL allocation is $58.25 per eligible student. If you have not already participated in ordering or still have a textbook allocation available, please be sure to submit your orders via the FAMIS Portal. Please refer to the detailed ordering information provided in
NYSTL Guidelines and Ordering Information.

The FY’10 NYSSL and NYSLIB State Loan Programs are also open for the submission of school year 2009-2010 Computer Software and Library orders via the FAMIS Portal. The NYSSL allocation remains the same at $14.98 as does the NYSLIB allocation at $6.25 per eligible child. Please refer to the
NYSSL/NYSLIB Guidelines and Ordering Information for further details.

Please be sure to use “District: 55” for all the loan programs and the correct quick code: 012129 for NYSTL, NYSSL and NYSLIB; while quick code: 004129 is for NYS CH when placing your orders. It is also suggested that you follow up directly with the vendors for all orders not received within 30 days of submitting your electronic purchase order to ensure receipt and delivery in a timely manner.

Although specific deadline dates have yet to be determined for the FY’10 NYS Loan Programs, it is strongly recommended that you plan ahead now and order early in anticipation of early March deadline dates. Further information will be forthcoming.
