P233Q @ Beach Channel High School  -- Vocational Education and Special Projects

  • The School of Cooperative Technical Education a/k/a Co-Op Tech offers many fields of interest that our students are involved in.  The school is located at 321 East 96th Street in New York City.  A typical day for our students involve boarding a school bus at 11:00 a.m. since classes begin at 12:30 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.  The students use mass transit to return home.  Some of the career opportunities offered at Co-Op Tech include Building Maintenance and Barbering.  These courses are broken down into four week sequences over the course of one year with the exception of Food Preparation/Catering which is 2 years.  Overall, Co-Op Tech has been a great asset for our students to learn and acquire an array of vocational skills that would enable them to obtain a job in the workforce.
