Ms. Denise Miller was my fourth grade teacher at a public school at 135th Street in Manhattan near Broadway in 1976-1977. I just came to America from Vietnam only the year before. Ms. Miller took over after another left. She was very sweet and allowed me to help after school. I remember making everyone in class a heart shaped basket for Valentine's Day. We filled the baskets with candy and she distributed to the students. I cannot remember what we spoke about- but I remember her kindness. The other students misbehaved and I felt bad that they put her through that. I don't know if she is in the school system, if she is please let her know she was wonderful to me. She gave me a lot of confidence in my new world and I wish her well.
