Mission Statements
The mission of the library media program is to provide an accessible and inviting facility in which students, staff, and community members can utilize, independently and in groups, a variety of resources that support and enhance all aspects of the curriculum and help make patrons lifelong learners. These resources will be current, well organized, and user-friendly, attractively displayed, well maintained, and varied in format and in level of difficulty.
The school librarian is a resource teacher who is caring, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about learning. She supports and implements the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school. She expects appropriate behavior, honesty, courtesy, and fairness and she models that behavior as well. She collaborates with teachers to design and implement curriculum projects for students. She networks with other librarians to share resources and information. In summary, she promotes literacy, enjoyment of reading, and love of life long learning.
