Class 2-223 studied Pointillism, particularily the artwork of Seurat. we then created our own fall pictures, using Q-Tips as our paintbrushes. - Ms. Glotzer












5th Grade Trip ~ Adventureland
June 1, 2009












On Thursday May 21st Sergeant Obdyke of the US Marines visited classes 3-229 and 3-321 . Sergeant Obdyke visited  PS 236 to thank the children for their holiday cards and gifts that they sent to him while he was in Iraq. he presented each class with a picture of his unit and thanked them for their support.










Class 2-223 enjoyed learning about the Statue of Liberty. We studied the statue's creation while reading 'The Copper Lady.' Then we found out how the statue was dismantled and delivered to the U.S.A. American school children helped to pay for the pedestal, which we read about in 'Lily an Miss Liberty.'

We had  fun celebrating all the special holidays with our friends and families in the P.S. 236 cafeteria.











 Classes 4-333, 4-334, and 4-332

Children participated in a Pow Wow after learning about Native Americans throughout their 4th Grade Social Studies Curriculum. Children were asked to dress up as Native Americans and participated in traditional tribal games. Children were also able to take part in a feast that replicated the first Thanksgiving.





 Class 1-111 celebrates Thanksgiving!

                         Ms. Katz's Class feast included many of the traditional foods served at the first Thanksgiving celebration: corn, cranberry sauce, cornbread, pumpkin muffins, bread stuffing, pumpkin and pecan pie, mashed potatoes and of course, turkey. We had a great time!







The students and teacher of K-101 have cast their ballots for

Class 2-223 really enjoyed learning about a style of painting called Pointillism. We studied Seurat's beautiful artwork, and then we created our own pictures using Autumn Trees as our theme. Everyone is welcome to visit our classroom to view and enjoy our creativity!








Class K-103 enjoys pumpkin carving! Happy Halloween!!!
