Summer Internship Program

The Office of Communications and Media Relations
The Office of Communications and Media Relations is seeking one or two interns to work in a fast-paced press office where there is an opportunity to learn about education, City government, and media relations. This is an unpaid internship, available immediately and will run through June 2010. The Office is looking for individuals who will:
- update and maintain press lists
- help track media coverage and maintain a file of press clips
- research projects
- help maintain the Communications Office calendar
- possibly help catalogue photographs for an architectural photography contest
There will be an opportunity to visit, report, and write about NYC public schools for a DOE publication.
The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills. This individual will be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently. Each intern will be required to work a minimum of 12 hours per week. Being able to speak a language in addition to English is a plus, but not a must.
