Change of Test Dates for English Language Arts and Math: Grades 3-8 Frequently Asked Questions. This year, the New York State English Language Arts (ELA) and math tests will be administered later in the school year than in past years. Students in grades 3-8 will take the ELA test in April, 2010 and the math test in May, 2010. We ask that you share this frequently asked question document with your respective parent population.
