Advance, New York City's teacher development and evaluation system, engages teachers in reflecting on both student learning data and meaningful feedback from school leaders, so they can learn, grow, and thrive as professionals. It is one of the tools the NYCDOE is using to ensure that everything we do as educators drives student achievement. All full-time K-12 classroom teachers who maintain active status for at least six cumulative calendar months during the current school year are evaluated under Advance.
Teachers should access the Advance Intranet (using their NYCDOE username and password) for up-to-date Advance policy and implementation guidance.
This online platform provides a space where New York City educators can search a library of educational resources, engage in online courses, and communicate and collaborate with colleagues.
Developed and maintained by the New York State Education Department, EngageNY offers educators across New York State real-time professional learning tools and resources to support educators in reaching the State’s vision for a college and career ready education for all students.
