New York City Mentoring Program and Interpublic Group announce scholarship winners

On June 27, 2011, the New York City Mentoring Program and Interpublic Group held a reception to honor the 2011 scholarship recipients: Johanes Atmaja and Pawel Krasowski. Both are Academy of Finance & Enterprise students, and each will receive a $5,000 scholarship to be used towards their college education.

                                Scholarship Winners Johanes and Pawel

For the past three years Johanes has been mentored by Arup Dutta of Citi. He will attend Hunter College in the fall and plans to study nursing as well as take pre-med courses. Pawel will attend Baruch College to study accounting and economics. He has been mentored by Joaquin Pradas, also of Citi, for the past three years. The two students were chosen based upon the excellence of their two essays, community service involvement, grade point average, school attendance, and interview. Both of the mentees credit their mentors’ guidance and encouragement with helping them navigate the college application process, hone their study skills, and explore some of the wonderful cultural opportunities the city has to offer.

Over the past 18 years, Interpublic Group has generously contributed $175,500 to the New York City Mentoring Program for scholarships for college-bound senior mentees.
