Fund Vice-Chair Caroline Kennedy was joined by actress and author Julianne Moore and Bank of America NYC President Jeffrey Barker to launch Shop for Public Schools at PS 142 on Manhattan’s Lower East Side October 1st. A group of second graders enjoyed a book reading from Moore’s latest children’s book, Freckleface Strawberry and the Dodgeball Bully.  Shop for Public Schools runs from October 1-8, 2009 with more than 250 to shop at in all five boroughs.  During this week, participating retailers pledge a portion or proceeds or a flat amount to The Fund for Public Schools in support of the Library REACH grant program.  For the latest list of participating stores, events, and offers, visit www.shopforpublicschools.org .
