Through the Arts SPACE and Library REACH grant programs, The Fund for Public Schools has awarded grants to more than 130 New York City public Schools.
GRANT APPLICATIONS

The Fund for Public Schools manages two grant programs to which New York City's public schools can apply: Library REACH (Revitalizing Education for Adolescents and Children) and Arts SPACE (Supporting Performing Arts and Creative Education). These grant programs enable public schools from across New York City to enhance their school libraries and performance facilities.

Library REACH

Through Library REACH, New York City public schools can apply for grants of up to $10,000 to improve their library programs. Library REACH grants enable schools to upgrade their technology and audio visual resources, build their book collections, provide professional development for librarians, and develop comfortable and inviting reading areas for students to read and learn.

As of fall 2007, more than 130 schools have received REACH grants. To date, more than $1,000,000 in private support has been raised for this program, impacting 100,000 New York City public school students.

Applications are now available, please check here

Arts SPACE

Arts SPACE is a program to which New York City public schools can apply for grants of up to $20,000 to improve their performing arts spaces. Since its creation in 2003, Arts SPACE has enabled more than 50 schools to make improvements to their facilities, including installation of new stage curtains, sound equipment, choir risers for auditoriums, and more.

For schools seeking further information about Library REACH and Arts SPACE, please contact Arlene Dominguez at ADominguez2@schools.nyc.gov.
