I want to thank Sidney Harris. Mr. Harris was the physics

teacher at my high school, William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens. Not only did he have a passion for teaching physics that excited me and ignited my interest, but he stayed after school, expressly so he could teach me Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity. Mr. Harris’s expertise was in physics but what he taught me went far beyond science. He pushed me. He shaped the way I thought about my future. And he set expectations for me that were, before then, unimaginable. I really believe I am chancellor today in no small measure because of Sidney Harris.
