Interoffice & CSE Mail, Payroll Distribution Schedules and Procedures


 Deluxe Delivery Systems (DDS) is the carrier vendor who has the responsibilities for delivery of interoffice mail, special education and special “on – demand” requests for deliveries between schools and offices within the Department of Education, as well as the distribution of payroll. 

Commencing on August 31st, 2015 and until October 28th, 2015 interoffice and CSE mail will be picked up and delivered twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays (unless there is a holiday).  Effective November 4, 2015 and for the duration of the year, pick up and delivery of interoffice and CSE mail at schools will resume to once a week on Wednesdays. For the weeks in which schools are closed for winter recess (December 24, 2015 through January 1, 2016), mid-winter recess (February 15 - 19, 2016) and spring recess (April 25, 2016 – April 29, 2016) there will be no pick up and delivery at the schools. Courier Service Between CSEs and All Schools Will Be Discontinued on February 20, 2015                              

Because all documents for school-aged students with disabilities are available in SESIS, Deluxe Delivery courier service from Committees on Special Education (CSEs) to schools and return service from schools to CSEs will end on February 20. This change will not affect any other courier deliveries to and from schools, and preschool IEPs will continue to be delivered to schools via courier. Please note that your school should no longer use the red envelopes addressed to your School Based Support Team (SBST) in order to send documents to and from your CSE. If you need to mail documents to your CSE going forward, please contact your CSE chairperson.

Special delivery requests defined as any package weighing more than one pound but less than forty (40) pounds or for any delivery outside of the interoffice mail schedule can not be placed via fax or telephone calls. The contracted vendor, Deluxe Delivery will only accept special delivery requests through an order application available on the FAMIS portal. This is a user friendly process that ensures all orders are fulfilled accurately and delivered on time. Special courier service is the only way to receive delivery confirmation for sensitive material. We strongly recommend that you utilize the special delivery requests when transporting student and teacher records in order to obtain receipt confirmation!
