The Department of Education routinely contracts for a variety of professional services including:

  • training for school leadership teams 
  • multicultural programs 
  • specialized custodial or janitorial services 
  • staff development 
  • testing, and 
  • direct student services.

In addition to the link/listing above, New York City has an arrangement with ReServe. ReServe connects experienced retirees to stipend-paying volunteer positions 10 to 15 hours a week that challenge retirees to use their professional skills for public good, and educates civic institutions about the benefits of experience and wisdom that retired professionals contribute.
