This Request for Bids (RFB) is to provide School Bus Transportation for school age students with disabilities and other riders citywide. The Office of Pupil Transportation is seeking bids for approximately 4,000 vehicles to provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation services to students. It is anticipated that service will begin for the 2015-2016 school year on or about September 1, 2015. This RFB will result in multiple 5-year requirements contracts.

This RFB is for the transportation between the homes and/or stops and schools of city residents with disabilities and other riders between five and twenty-one years of age attending Educational Programs located within the greater metropolitan area (i.e., the five boroughs of New York City; Westchester, Rockland, Nassau and Suffolk Counties in New York; sites in New Jersey; and, sites in Connecticut so long as they are within a 50 mile radius of the City’s boundaries). In addition, this RFB is intended to cover the Board of Education’s requirements for transportation between residential treatment facilities and schools, between schools (within and outside of the City) and field trip destinations (within the City only), from after school programs to home or alternative afternoon drop-off locations, and for such other uses as provided herein. With the 2015-2016 School Year, the DOE intends to construct routes to be performed under this (and other) contract(s) based on a wide variety of students being transported on each vehicle. Accordingly, it is anticipated that any vehicle under this contract might transport any combination of students (students with disabilities whose Educational Programs may or may not designate specific transportation requirements as well as non-disabled students).

The New York City Department of Education (DOE) is seeking bids from vendors able to supply and deliver networking equipment, servers, extended warranties, and assorted related hardware necessary to maintain the DOE’s existing technology infrastructure at optimal performance levels. The DOE will select a maximum of ten qualified vendors to provide the necessary hardware and extended warranties to schools and central offices in New York City. The bid will consist of ten classes of hardware, six classes of networking equipment and four classes of servers, with each class composed of items from the same manufacturer. Vendors will be required to provide a discount off the list price for specific items in each class. Vendor(s) contracted through this RFB will be responsible for delivery of the hardware purchased through this contract, with a small component of training and setting up of servers purchased by schools.

We strongly encourage vendors to submit questions to clarify any uncertainties you may have about this procurement. RFB amendments may be made based on your questions if they are deemed beneficial and appropriate for this procurement. Attendance to the conference is not mandatory but is recommended, the conference will not be recorder or transmitted via telephone or other medium. The Contractor shall provide all labor, material and supervision that is required and is necessary to temporarily remove all the furniture, materials and apparatus from the classrooms, offices, gymnasiums, dance classrooms, auditoriums, or other designated room, cut out, remove and legally dispose of the damaged areas of the existing wood flooring system.  The Contractor shall make all necessary repairs and/or replacement of the defective flooring, subflooring, plywood, sleepers, nailing strips, grout between nailing strips, corks, neoprene strips/pads and any other existing resilient material, perlite, mastic, screed coat, membrane, mineral wool, expansion joint material, polyethylene film, cleats, clips, anchors, resilient anchors and any other existing defective components of the existing flooring system and replace the same with new material to match the original condition and create a new proper base for the new wood flooring installation.  After the completion of the wood flooring system repair, finishing and clean up, the Contractor shall reinstall all removed furniture and apparatus to its original location.
