Exit Projects

District 75 Grade 8 Exit Projects

  • Students select topics and create research questions related to American History from 1876 to the present.
  • Students submit an Exit Project Proposal and Contract signed and approved by the participating teacher and student.
  • The Exit Project contains three components:
    • Written Report
    • Oral Presentation
    • Graphic/Visual Representation
  • Sections of the Exit Project include:
    • Description of the project
    • Goals of the project
    • Written and graphic product of the project
    • Type of presentation of the project.
  • Guideline of Steps to Create Exit Projects:
    • Select Topic (with teacher approval)
    • Formulate Research Questions
    • Identify Sources of Information
    • Collect & Record Information
    • Write Bibliography (using standard format)
    • Organize Information (using outlines or graphic organizer)Select
    • Format for Presentation
    • Select Type of Visual Representation of Topic
    • Write First Draft
    • Revise Writing
    • First Draft of Visual Representation
    • Prepare Oral Presentation
    • Practice Oral Presentation (using note cards)
    • Use Technology/Graphics to Produce Project
    • Submit Written Presentation
    • Deliver Oral Presentation to Audience

Exit Project Scoring Rubric

Exit Project Scoring Rubrics set the guidelines of the Exit Projects and score the written report, graphic representation, and oral presentation.  (Scores range from 1-4 with guiding comments)

1= Below Standards
2= Approaching Standards
3 = Meets Standards
4 = Exceeds Standards
