Technology
Technology Solutions, the District 75 Technology Office, provides instruction and professional development, equipment disbursement (both programmatic and IEP-driven), and technology support to schools, teachers, administrators, and parents.
As technology grows and enhances so does Technology Solutions. We look at technology as supporting and enhancing the learning for our students, teachers and administrators. We look for tools and devices that will supplement communication and understanding. It is with this in hand that the department is involved in following initiatives:
The MOUSE Squad is primarily for middle and high school students - This program trains student s to repair computers and other hardware in their schools. It creates an in-house help desk for hardware repair. Students have been getting certified in repair that leads to internships as well as career opportunities. The program is in its second year and in 7 schools. You can view the goals and work at
http://d75mousesquad.wikispaces.com/
We added the district 75 library of instructional videos on to the web via Vimeo. They can be viewed at
http://www.vimeo.com/d75
. Teachers, administrators and parents can view and download these state of the art instructional videos.
The director of technology meets monthly with district 75 schools’ technology liaisons. These liaisons are trained in best practices, aligning the common core standards as well as hands-on training which they turn key to their schools. It is the district’s belief to build capacity at the school level and this training provides these resources to accomplish this goal.
The district conducts ongoing and embedded professional development in technology on everything from smart boards for standardized and alternate assessment, and adapted books to anger management strategies and therapeutic crisis interventions. To register for any of our courses please visit:
