School Web Sites

Communicating to potential and current parents and students of your school is extremely important. The Office of Web Management Services has created individual school Web portals using a Content Management System making it easier for schools to have a web presence.  Some features available to webmasters within the school web sites follow:  

Portal Features Communicate important information to parents and students quickly and easily without knowledge of HTML using the web editor Brand your school's web sites using the school's colors, logo, and motto as well as school building photo. Display school information such as principal, address, enrollment, contacts and more. Getting Started

	Become a Webmaster for your school Update and contribute content to your school's web portal.
	Additional Training for webmasters If you already are a school webmaster and you have been trained, you can receive a refresher course or get advanced training.
	Accessing CMS from a classroom or home computer As the school webmaster you can now access the school web editing tool (CMS) from any computer with an internet connection.

Updating Your School Web site

	Customize the look of your school's web site Customize your school's web site with your school's colors, logo, motto, and school photo.
	Update your school's information You can request updates to your school's information such as your school's phone number, fax, principal's name, PTA, Parent
	Update your school's subway and bus directions Your school web site can include bus and subway information.

	Linking to an external web site Use our guidelines to ensure compliance with our Internet Acceptable Use Policy
	Displaying pictures of students To post pictures of students on you website you must have a release form signed and filed for each student photo you wish to post.
	Posting student, teacher, or staff art work Please contact the Communications Office at 212-374-5141 regarding student art work.
