This pilot program immerses parents of K-8 students in hands-on learning through science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and art and design. In the 2016-2017 school year, FaceLab will train a core team of parents and parent coordinators in approximately 20 elementary and middle schools to prepare them to lead hands-on STEAM programs and activities in the classroom.
The Family English Initiative (TFEI) is a family engagement pilot program featuring a two-generation approach to strengthening language skills. TFEI targets K-2 English Language Learners (ELLs) and their parents to learn English as a family. By improving language skills, TFEI helps families build the confidence, relationships, and tools needed to be active partners in their child’s education.
