Standard 1: Fostering Communication 

School and families engage in an open exchange of information regarding student progress, school‐wide goals, and support activities.

a. Schools develop an open, two‐way dialogue with parents.

b. Schools communicate high expectations for student achievement and offer supports to parents.

This workshop provides participants with an overview of the importance of communication between schools and families in addition to web-based resources that provide information with respect to student progress, support activities, and school-wide goals. The breakout session addresses strategies for fostering open communication and identifying strategies to enhance families’ use of online resources to impact their children’s educational outcomes. Participants are provided with an EZ Access Tip sheet that enables them to have at their fingertips names, links, and phone numbers so they can easily access the information.
