GED preparation programs prepare students to pass the General Educational Development exam. A variety of different programs in the Alternative District (District 79) are available for students who wish to prepare to take the GED exam. Learning to Work GED Learning to Work GED is a program that combines academic instruction to help students prepare for the General Educational Development exam with work readiness and career and college exploration activities. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that help them develop the skills they need to be successful in college and in the workplace. A community-based organization provides additional support services and helps students get placed in paid internships.

Access GED Access is a full-time educational program for students who wish to pursue Learning to Work options such as paid internships and career exploration while they acquire the academic skills to pass the GED exam and enroll in college. Access and Community Based Organization-personnel work collaboratively with all students to set and achieve individual academic, workplace, and personal goals.
